6th Grade students are currently reading The Sign of the Beaver by Elizabeth George Speare. This novel focuses on an adolescent boy who must survive in the Maine territory in the 1700s while he waits for his family to arrive from Massachusetts . Students in 6th grade are just finishing up their first humanities project, which is to create a travel brochure for South America. In this project, students learned how to use an atlas as well as how to locate appropriate resources for their project.
7th Grade students are currently reading The Great Gilly Hopkins by Katherine Patterson. This novel focuses on an adolescent girl who has lived in various foster homes since she was 4 years old.
